Advantages:
Some advantages for hydropower on the economy are that hydropower is low cost, and that it doesn’t pollute the air, unlike gas. A major effect is that it helps the economy by creating additional revenue, jobs, and tax dollars. Since the reservoirs and power plants were built back then, it didn’t cost much. The Corps tried to make the energy cost less for the economy. Even though it has to produce enough energy for the tons of people, it still makes so much it has extra energy. The hydropower dams are neutral about floods. Without the floods, the economy would spend less money to repair damaged houses.

Disadvantages:
Some disadvantages of hydroelectricity towards the economy are:
- Dams, that would hold the water, are extremely expensive.
- Power plants have to operate for many decades to become profitable.
- Flooding of large areas of lands means that the natural environment is destroyed.
- Floods would cause people to move out (Of their homes), lose businesses (& jobs), and sometimes lose people they know.
- Building large dams can cause serious geological damage.
- Some old dams could be breached, and cause flooding.
- Also, dams block natural rivers, hydrate wildlife, and could stop some countries from controlling the water.
- Not much clean water because water mills can be dirty.
